ReplyDeleteI have a ton of quotes. I collect them.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great grouping of quotes. I'm especially taken by this one:
ReplyDeleteKeep away from people who try to belittle your dreams. Small people always do that, but the really great ones make you feel that you too, can become great. - Mark Twain
So important to remember.
The best quotes I've seen so far today. They're all about perserverance.
ReplyDeleteGreat writing and inspirational quotes! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Alison,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the comment on my blog last week! Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you! Congrats on still going with the challenge! I had to drop out; too much going on this year. But I'm impressed by those still plugging away at it!
I loved this post. As a quote collector, I've read many of them before, but it's always good to have a reminder that "if we can dream it, we can do it!"
Have an awesome day and thanks for the encouragement!
Cheers,
Jen
Han Solo! Love it :) I've had that Journey song in my head all morning today...
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE all of these! Thanks so much for sharing them. My two favorite are Ray Bradbury and the one from Finding Forrester. So awesome. And for the record I was totally listening to Don't Stop Believing when I read that quote.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great collection of quotes. I love the Ray Bradbury quote. It's fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI've always liked this quote from Philip Sidney:
"Fool," said my Muse to me, "look in thy heart and write."
Super quotes! I especially love Ray Bradbury:
ReplyDeleteYou must stay drunk on writing so reality cannot destroy you.—Ray Bradbury
The Force be with you.
ReplyDeleteHere's lookin' at you, kid.
There's no place like home.
Oooooh, I love the Ray Bradbury one as well.
ReplyDeleteMy two favorite quotes aren't so much inspirational as they are little reminders.
The first comes from Stephen King: "You must not come lightly to the blank page."
I don't think it means you're not supposed to have any fun writing; it's more that you should take yourself seriously and give yourself some respect as a writer, published or not. This is what you want to do. Who you want to be. That's a big deal :)
The second is from Anton Chekhov: "Don't tell me the moon is shining; show me the glint of light on broken glass."
Sure, it's the old "show, don't tell" rule, but it's written beautifully and it helps to jump start my writing when I get stuck feeling dull and boring.
Great post!
Great choice for Q, and I love your eclectic mix of quotes! I'm also much taken with J. Lyn's comment about taking ourselves seriously as writers, even if we're unpublished. A wonderful reminder, indeed...:)
ReplyDeleteGreat list of quotes, I love the stay drunk on writing one.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post of quotes. I think I'll bookmark so the next time I need a little pick me up I know just where to go.
ReplyDeleteNice pick-me-ups!
ReplyDeleteLove the Henry Ford quote...and the great perhaps.
"The worst stuff you write is always better than the best stuff you don't." -- Anonymous
ReplyDeleteGreat quotes. Sometimes I look up writing quotes to lift me up.
ReplyDelete"Good things fall apart so that better things can fall together." That's one line I like to keep reminding myself.
ReplyDeleteGreat list of quotes, by the way!
