What's Up Wednesday (24): BELIEVE edition

Guys, my husband's soccer team just won the Eastern Regional Championship and are officially State Championship bound!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So, if my post is peppered with a few (haha) exclamation points (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) please forgive me. I'm still on a massive high from that win. J

What's Up Wednesday is a weekly meme geared toward readers and writers, allowing us to touch base with blog friends and let them know what's up. Jaime Morrow and Erin Funk are the hosts, and we'd love for you to join in the fun! Just hit up their blogs and sign up on the linky. J
What I'm Reading:
Um…let's not go there.

What I'm Writing:

In my first week of NaNoReviseMo, I edited 45 pages—which is almost as many as I did in the previous month! I'm currently up to page 110 and am looking to edit up to 140 by the end of the week. *fingers crossed*

How about you? What are you writing this week?!

What Inspires Me Right Now:
My husband's boys. They've had a few really tough games in their march to the State final. Their tenacity is beyond inspiring.
Also, their team motto: Believe: Believe in yourself, believe in each other, believe in your dreams.
Kind of sums things up on my incredible writing community (aka YOU GUYS) too. J

What Else I've Been Up To:
Soccer. Obvs. J (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
The nine-year-old received his first report card and he had all As. The fourteen-year-old's lowest grade on her last progress report was a 95. SO PROUD.
My mom's in Honduras on a dental mission trip. She does this just about every year, but I still worry about her. But very proud of her and the work she does too. J
Also, it snowed here last night. Yet this weekend, the temperature's supposed to be in the seventies. CRAZY November weather!

Finally, I'm super excited about this Saturday's STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!! but I'm also excited about seeing CATCHING FIRE next Thursday night. Anyone else seeing the premiere?! What are your plans? And what's up on YOUR Wednesday?!

  3. Congratulations to your husband and kids, and good luck with the rest of your revisions this month.

Almost all of my writing this week has been my portfolio for one of my classes. This morning I got an e-mail from the professor saying today's class is cancelled, so I have a little more time to get down to the library to do the last of the readings before submitting it.

    1. Thanks, Jaime! Things are pretty exciting here. And I am just really pushing myself right now, but have a feeling things are going to slow with the revisions as I trudge into the murky middle. It'll get done though. I hope.:)

  15. Yay for your husband and his team! That's so awesome! And that mantra? That's a winner. I blogged about the exact same thing just over a week ago, so it's fresh on my mind. Way to make tracks with your editing!

Not going to make the premier of Catching Fire, but will try to see it before the end of the year (not sure how to swing it with the newborn).

    1. Thank you, Kat! And this is one of the few premieres I do. I get a little claustrophobic in theaters with all the people so I try to see movies AFTER they've been in for a while. BUT this one I'm just too excited to see. :)

Oh, and your baby is PRECIOUS. And I completely understand. I think I had one outing every six months for the first five years of my children's lives. :) But it's okay. They're worth it.

  18. Catching Fire? Next Thursday? Already?! Man....psyched.

    I LOVE SOCCER, TOO.

I've been watching the British Premiere League every weekend. NBC got a huge deal and they show all the matches live on TV or on the web.

Funny, because I' not a "sports guy" but I loves me some soccer.

    Congrats to the team!

I am, however, excited for your speed because GIVE IT TO ME NOW. Ahem.

Congrats to your husband's soccer team. So exciting!

  20. Congrats to your husband's team! And I love their motto "Believe" it just applies to life in so many ways. When I read your "Um...let's not go there." comment, I cracked up. Why oh why can't we get inspired/motivated to read lately? It's not a lack of having anything good to read. We should figure out how we can get reading...then do something about it.

  21. Ha! Love this post, Alison! So many exclamation points! :)

Congrats to your husband & his team! What an accomplishment. I hope they do well at State! Also major kudos for the progress you've made on your revisions - woooot!

I hope you have a great week! I'm sooo jealous that you get to see Catching Fire. I hope it's awesome!!
