What's Up Wednesday

What's Up Wednesday is a weekly meme geared toward readers and writers, allowing us to touch base with blog friends and let them know what's up. Jaime Morrow and Erin Funk are the hosts, and we'd love for you to join in the fun! Just hit up their blogs and sign up on the linky. J

WHAT I’M READING: This past week I finished CHARM AND STRANGE by Stephanie Kuehn (AMAZING), BUTTER by Erin Jade Lange (heartwrenching, but really good), and DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT by Sarah Mylnowski (wasn’t sure why I picked this up, but it turned out to be a very fast, fun, and fabulous read!)

WHAT I’M WRITING: I started the SNI. Okay, granted I only wrote the pitch and part of the first chapter, but I still wrote SOMETHING. And I kind of love what I wrote, so…

WHAT INSPIRES ME: I’ve also started a new playlist for said SNI. It includes this song. And I’ve been listening to it A LOT.

WHAT ELSE I’VE BEEN UP TO: Enjoying the NC warm weather spurt! Which is why I’ve been doing more reading than writing. So nice to curl up with a good book outside. J

What’s up on YOUR Wednesday?!

  4. You've got to start somewhere, so a pitch and a first page works! I find sometimes I need some downtime to just read and get re-inspired.

  7. Hahaha..."Jessie' Girl" is totally stuck in my head now. It's a little sad that I didn't even need to listen to the YouTube link you provided for that to happen. What can I say? I'm a child of the 80s lol. Yay for SNIs and getting some writing done on that idea. It feels like forever since I last got to work on a SNI. Hope the words keep flowing! Have a great week, Alison. :-)

  9. A pitch and a couple pages is still writing, and getting the pitch written isn't easy so yay! I haven't read CHARM AND STRANGE yet, but I keep hearing really good things.

  12. I've heard such good things about Charm and Strange that I must add it to my TBR pile.

And yes, Book + Outside = Heaven. In nice weather it's almost impossible to NOT be outside. :)

Hope you have a great week!

  13. Oh my gosh - Jessie's Girl! What an awesome blast from the past! It reminds me of when my sister and I went to see that really bad Rick Springfield movie (Hard to Hold? Or Handle?) and we had the entire theater to ourselves so we got up and danced in the aisles during the songs! :) And you're killing me with the wonderful weather report. In MN we're supposed to get a BIG snow storm in the next couple days. I think someone forgot to tell Mother Nature it's April. Have a great week!
